Brookwood Nurse Receives “Outstanding Promising Alumni” Award
A student at Wallace State, Crystal Stewart is also a registered nurse at Brookwood Medical Center. Last week Ms. Stewart was recognized as one of the inaugural recipients of the Outstanding Promising Alumni award at the 7th Annual Outstanding Alumni Awards Ceremony, held at Burrow center Recital Hall. The Outstanding Promising Alumni Award honors current students or recent graduates who have excelled academically, made a significant contribution to Wallace State through service, or have shown promise in their career field. Ms. Stewart graduated in May summa cum laude with an applied science degree from the registered nursing program. Stewart was a member of the Honors Scholar Program, Phi Theta Kappa, and she won the Nightingale Award for excellence in nursing during her time at Wallace State volunteering for United Way, American Red Cross and Hospice. Ms. Stewart plans to enroll at Jacksonville State to earn her bachelors and master degrees.
